Michael A. Echols
Mike Echols joins IACI after 7 years at the Department of Homeland Security where he focused on public/private partnership to overcome national security and cybersecurity challenges. Mr. Echols provided leadership that was critical in the creation of the National Sector Risk Assessment for Communications and developed a cyber information sharing programs with a membership representing 10% - 15%of the US GDP.
Mr. Echols was tapped to rollout President Obama's Executive Order 13691 "Promoting Private Sector Information Sharing" in February 2015. He stood up the ISAO Standards Organization and successfully developed a national program for ISAOs providing an opportunity for any "community of interest" to share cyber threat information with each other and the Government.
Mr. Echols is the former NATO representative, Chair of the Network Security Information Exchange, Chair of the Communications Sector and Designated Federal Offical for the President's NSTAC.
Mr. Echols is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Harvard Kennedy School - National Preparedness Leadership Initative, and has a MBA from University of Maryland as well as a CISSP certification.
